About me

Upon graduating from Queen's University in 2021, I moved to vibrant New York City to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a Woman Grandmaster. While working as a chess coach in elementary schools, I realized that coaching is a skill by itself - you can be a great player, but that doesn't mean that you can be an effective teacher. From coaching for more than 4000 hours, I developed an efficient method to teach the most important concepts in the least amount of time.

Using my approach, I coached:

12 students to over 1000 USCF rating
10 students to over 1200 USCF rating
3 students to over 1400 USCF rating
2 students to over 1600 USCF rating

Notably, one student excelled at the Pan-American Youth Festival Under 10 Girls, securing the 11th position among the best young chess players in the Western Hemisphere.

I am still studying to become a Woman Grandmaster, but my attitude to coaching has changed. I love it a lot, and I love seeing results in my students.
