Hello! I'm Sharan Rao from Karnataka, India! I'm 23 years old, finished my B.tech Civil Engineering degree in NITK Surathkal. I am also the founder and head coach of the chess academy named Rao's Chess Corner (RCC).

⭐Played Commonwealth 2008 where I got my starting FIDE rating of 1555.
⭐Scored my 1st IM Norm in Sunway Sitges Open 2021 in Spain.
⭐️Scored my 2nd IM Norm in Maharashtra Open 2022 in Pune.
⭐Scored my 3rd IM Norm in Prague Open 2023 in Czech Republic.
🌟Crossed 2400 live fide rating on 15th July 2023 and hence became an International Master.
🥇International Champion in the Gujurat Below 2000 Open in 2018.
🥈2nd Place in the International Mumbai Mayors Cup Below 2000 Open in 2019.
🥇International Champion in the GH Adriatico Open 2022 in Italy.
🥇International Champion in the LJ Slovakia Open Below 2300 in June 2023.
🥇International Champion in the Bulgaria Open Below 2400 in July 2023.
🥈2nd Place in the 42nd St.Veit Open in Austria in July 2023.
🥇2 times Inter-NIT Nationals Gold Medalist in 2018 and 2019 in Agartala and Jaipur.
🥈Silver medal in the SGFI National School Games 2017 in Warangal.
🥇9 times Karnataka State Chess Champion in open and categories.
🥇60+ times district champion.

I started chess coaching in the year 2018, taught around 100+ students from various parts of the world from being beginners to students having a rating of around 1900, ranging from 6 to 40-year-olds. 15 years of playing chess helped me gain complete understanding and maturity about the game which helps me express my thoughts about it very fluently to others.

Openings are given top priority for quick growth. Middlegame tactical and positional materials will be provided in utmost depth. Endgame theory is split into different piece endgames for better understanding. Interactive sessions are what make the class very exciting and fun.
