If all you play is lichess, linux is perfectly fine. But for other games you are right. But it has less to do with linux and more to do with the programmers of said games designing them only to work with windows. Most linux distributions nowadays are extremely user friendly and no different then using windows. I make my Mother use Qubes-os, which is way more complicated and she hates me for it. lol
