Why I no longer cheat

Squarology, that's a pretty ugly attitude to have. The cheater has redeemed himself. If you are for justice, then you are also for rehabilitation. That's exactly what has taken place here, so your attitude is really off the mark.
Stopping a bad behavior isn't redeeming yourself. Maybe if the OP made a big donation to lichess.org or another similar community service, we could talk about redeeming himself. He has damaged the community of online chess. Make no mistake, cheating is a large chunk of damage to any community. Not doing it anymore doesn't fix that damage, and it doesn't make everything ok.
I'm glad OP came out with what he did and why he did it. The overwhelming majority of cheaters don't reply to requests to explain why they cheated.

At least OP gave us an idea of why he did it and why he stopped. From that tidbit we learnt how important the social and community aspect can be to stopping the practice of cheating.

This former cheater has fully rehabilitated himself by coming out and agreeing what he did was unfair and ruined the game for the other players. It's not redemption, perhaps, but it's certainly rehabilitation. Kudos to you OP, and thank you for an optimistic, enlightening and important post.
I agree, op is fine in my eyes. Saying they aren't rehabilitated, to me, is like denying them the right to not be a cheater anymore. I fully appreciate their post.
Nobody said they aren't rehabilitated. Redeemed is a different word.
